The Advanced Manufacturing Training Academy (AMTA), in collaboration with A*STAR (Agency for Science, Technology and Research) and SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), proudly launched the Singapore Workforce Institute of Future Transformation (SWIFT) pilot programme at ITAP 2024, graced by Deputy Prime Minister Mr Heng Swee Keat. This significant milestone will play a crucial role in supporting Singapore’s Manufacturing 2030 vision.

The SWIFT programme is designed to upskill over 300 Professionals, Managers, Executives, and Technicians (PMETs) from more than 60 manufacturing companies, focusing on critical areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), automation, robotics, and sustainability. Through customised, project-based training, SWIFT equips participants with the future-ready skills necessary to thrive in Industry 4.0 and beyond.

In partnership with A*STAR, SMF and AMTA are also launching the Green Transformation Programme – an initiative that offers mentorship-based training and guides companies through sustainability assessments. As part of the SMF’s Chief-Sustainability-Officer as a Service (CSOaaS) initiative, companies will develop technology Proof-of-Concepts (PoCs) to achieve the Sustainability Green Mark goals.

Key Highlights of SWIFT:

  • AI and Advanced Manufacturing Training: Tailored programmes in areas like AI, robotics, automation, and data analytics.
  • Industry-Relevant Workforce Solutions: Designed to meet the evolving needs of Singapore’s manufacturing industry.
  • Hands-On Learning: Participants will gain practical experience by applying skills to real-world projects.
  • Sustainability and Technology: A strong focus on green technologies and sustainability-driven practices, helping companies stay competitive and aligned with Singapore’s sustainability targets.

With the launch of SWIFT, we are committed to driving Singapore’s workforce transformation and ensuring the manufacturing sector remains globally competitive by equipping the workforce with the skills needed for digital transformation and sustainable innovation. Together, we are building a skilled workforce capable of leading Singapore’s industrial sector into the future.
