This partnership is realized through the Advanced Manufacturing Training Academy (AMTA), a national programme newly established under the ambit of SMF. It showcases SMF’s commitment to future-proofing our manufacturing sectors and maintaining global competitiveness.

The Advanced Manufacturing Training Academy (AMTA) is a national programme operated by the Singapore Manufacturing Federation (SMF) to provide support to local manufacturing by leading foresight on emerging jobs and skills, charting and coordinating training offerings and facilitating the development of new training programmes to address key skill gaps. AMTA is guided by an advisory board with representatives from government agencies, institutes of higher learning, and industry leaders.

Mission

  • Foresight emerging jobs and skills in advanced manufacturing based on the analysis of global trends and insights on Singapore’s manufacturing strategy.
  • Chart advanced manufacturing training in Singapore through evaluation of training offerings in the ecosystem and coordinating on advanced manufacturing training offerings.
  • Facilitate the development of new courses and curriculum in partnership with institutes of higher learning (IHLs) and private/public sector training providers (TPs) to address key gaps in the training ecosystem to support the industry’s transformation efforts and workforce skills upgrading.
  • Proliferate advanced manufacturing upskilling and reskilling in Singapore.
